Say goodbye to toxic masculinity this year, Hilary Roberts is back with another infectious pop song, this time all about celebrating healthy relationships and praising the Good Men in your life – no more bad boys, people, it’s 2020!
It’s Hilary Roberts at her most fun, fierce and empowering with a catchy melody and an exuberant horn section which really shows off her carefree side. The video is an absolute riot, with Roberts organizing a competition to find the “Best Man” through a talent competition-esque series of tasks, such as tying little girls’ shoelaces, dance solos, cooking round, and more – before giving in and awarding everyone the top prize. You are defied not to crack a smile whilst watching Roberts and all her friends dance and make fools of themselves and each other while the infectious beats of this song play on. Towards the end of the video, Roberts celebrates love in every capacity, with couples of all shapes, sizes, colors, and sexualities paid tribute to this Valentine’s Day.
The message of ‘Good Man’ is clear – we all deserve the best, your wellbeing is of utmost importance, and ditch anyone who doesn’t agree.
