Tell us about your music.
The Healed Project is a music platform that uses music to promote global healing and unity. Our mission is to create meaningful music that resonates with different cultures, inspiring us to come together to make a positive change in the world. Through uplifting lyrics and melodic instrumentation, we aim to spread a messages of hope, healing, and unity. Our music will help to inspire people to connect and celebrate our differences. When did you start performing?
In 2014, inspired by his own personal challenges and life experiences, Founder and Producer Tyrese S. Thomas conceived a transformative music platform, weaving his profound songwriting with the trials and triumphs of others as a constant source of inspiration. The Healed Project embodies his vision to propagate healing, love, bravery, and the unwavering spirit of those who overcome adversity. Recognizing the need for companions on this journey, I invited six of my esteemed friends, all talented indie artists in their own right, to join me. Together, we embarked on the creation of new music, engaging in rigorous rehearsals and meticulous preparations for the release of our inaugural single.
What do you consider to be your hometown and how does that affect your music?
The Healed Project is based out of Philadelphia. It begin with six local artist from the Philadelphia area.
What performers have been your inspiration?
Several remarkable musicians and creative minds have profoundly influenced me throughout my artistic journey. One such individual is my mentor, Dr. Steven Walker, whose guidance and expertise have been invaluable to my growth. Additionally, I draw inspiration from the works of Donald Lawrence, Quincy Jones, and Earth Wind and Fire. These extraordinary songwriters, producers, and artists captivate me with their unique approach to music, their ability to weave captivating stories, their fearless artistic expression, and their exceptional arrangements. Their contributions to the realm of music continue to fuel my passion and push me to explore new horizons in my own artistic endeavors.
What do you base your success on?
Our primary objective revolves around disseminating messages of hope, healing, and unity. Simultaneously, we strive to inspire individuals to forge meaningful connections and embrace the diversity that surrounds us. To gauge our success, we rely on the feedback received from concert attendees and music listeners who express how our work has positively influenced their lives. Furthermore, I derive immense satisfaction from the opportunity to reach out to fresh audiences and introduce them to our unique musical endeavors.
What was your latest musical release?
With utmost compassion, I am delighted to share my most recent music release titled “I Think We Forgot.” This single delves into the poignant topic of the fading art of healthy communication. Inspired by the prevalent lack of meaningful human conversations, it explores the profound impact our words hold and emphasizes the significance of reconciliation and a renewed commitment to listening to one another. Through this heartfelt composition, my aim is to encourage and inspire individuals to actively engage in positive communication once more. As I reflect upon my own personal experiences, I have come to realize the transformative power that stems from a simple, healthy conversation, and it is my sincere hope that this single can ignite a similar understanding among its listeners.
