Sexagenarian Musician with AIDS Gives Away 1st Song Album

Art songs in pop form — from the funny to the pensive to the mystical — and no auto-tune or pitch correction needed.

”Songs for the Eclectic” covers a wide array of genres and refreshes the pop song form, taking much inspiration from 20th-century classical music and modern jazz among others.

A Toronto native, Denny Hall, 63, over 40 years, couldn’t find a music company interested in him so he had to teach himself a dozen plus jobs to do it all, himself — a true “solo artist”. He can spend more than 100 hours to finish writing just one song, and refers to himself as a recovering perfectionist.

His debut album is so named because it is an eclectic album by definition (song genres on the album vary), but also because of the quirky nature of some of the songs.

He is currently at work on his next album which he will fully arrange with instruments and percussion, etc., which ranges from dance-pop to art-pop and more.

He has so far completed 58 songs ready to be arranged and recorded — 8 albums in the pipeline.
