Memphis Crawl at TV Taping for “Rick’s Rising Stars”

New York, NY (August, 2016) — Having just rocked a Headlining show at Long Island’s The Space at Westbury and two back-to-back gigs in Philadelphia PA, New York’s own Memphis Crawl are getting set to open as direct support for one of the best Tributes to The Doors around–LA’s own Wild Child–at three of the Tri-State area’s most revered venues! Following a set this Saturday, September 3rd

at Patchogue, NY’s 89 North, the band is set to play back-to-back at Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday, September 16th, 7:00PM followed by Long Island’s The Paramount Saturday, September 17th, 7:00PM then head to the bright lights of the city to conquer the stage at Gramercy Theatre Sunday, September 18th, 7:00PM!

Described as “Bluesy”,”Ballsy”,”Soulful” and “Convention Defying”,  Memphis Crawl was formed in 2004 by charismatic frontman Matty O’Brien on the blue-collar streets of New York City. The son of a counter-culture mother from Brooklyn and a country-blues bred outlaw daddy from the South, Matty was raised on a strict diet of rock ‘n roll and delta blues and even as a small child it was clear that this “old soul” was a natural performer. Soon after putting the group together, Matty found some of the “heaviest cats around” in guitarist Bryan Stevens, bassist Slim Vincenti, and percussionist Michael Powder.  From their first jam session together it was obvious that their collective energy and chemistry was truly something special and a once-in-a-lifetime gift. The four piece powerhouse has toured all over the U.S. from NYC to Los Angeles and parts of Europe, and their fan base–known as “The CrawlDogs”–have become a huge funky family almost a cross between a counterculture commune and a traveling circus. With O’Brien’s Jim Morrison-esque persona, a stage presence and vocal delivery that meets the raw emotion of Joe Cocker, and a sound reminiscent of bands like My Morning Jacket and the Black Crowes- a glimpse at their live show can truly display to any hard core rock ‘n roll fans why their motto is “play like it’s your last night on Earth!!”.

With even more shows to come, the band is currently putting the finishing touches on their next album at Suffolk Recording Studios! But for your chance to catch them with one of the country’s best tributes to The Doors, make sure to stop down one of FOUR upcoming performances at 89 North in Patchogue, NY on Saturday, September 3rd Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday, September 16th, (7:00PM), The Paramount in Huntington on Saturday, September 17th (7:00PM) and at the Gramercy Theatre on Sunday, September 18th (7:00PM)!
