London, Camden, United Kingdom — On the 40th Anniversary of its Original release the Album, “Method in the Madness”, has been re-released by the GBM MEDIA label

The Album is exclusively available to download on Digital Distribution and Streaming platforms.

The Gardening by Moonlight Album, “Method in the Madness”, recorded in 1983, defied current musical genres of the time incorporating early Synth Electronica coupled with Real Drums, Percussion and  Vocals.

“Rich, pure and astonishingly subtle, Gardening by Moonlight’s first album offers layer upon layer of magical invention.” Helen Fitzgerald, Melody Maker

Commenting on Gardening by Moonlight Johnson say’s, “At the time, in the early eighties, and prior to being in several name Bands through the years, Duncan and myself were striving to avoid placing too many musical restrictions on ourselves by taking unconventional approaches to our playing and songwriting. Experimenting with Rhythm, Electronica, Song and Production with a Multi/Anti Genre stance and a sprinkling of tongue in cheek humour.”

“The Music, tracks  and Songs appeared to turn out as Urban, Rural, Quirky, and Different.”

Helen Fitzgerald (Melody Maker) said “Astonishingly clever innovations and a more tongue-in- cheek rejection of the saturated neo-disco funk invasion forges a strong identity for GBM.”

Gardening by Moonlight were a Duo formed in London in 1981 by British Drummer/Percussionist, Singer/Songwriter, Musician/Composer and Co-Producer John Johnson, (A.K.A. John(JJ)Johnson and JJ Johnson), and Musician/Composer, Synth/Keyboard player, and Co-Producer, Duncan Bridgeman.
