Formed in 2010 by David Sizemore on Guitar and vocals and Ryan Burton on Drums, Corey Glass Bass, already opened for The Days of the New, Seven Mary Three and others, they are a living proof that there are still pure rock bands out there waiting to blow people’s mind.

Upside Down by Farehaven is an album full of epic moments, and a powerful hard rock sound that almost immediately reminds us to bands such as Three Days Grace, Adema but with a slightly more classic sound. The album starts immediately with “Capsule”, heavy yet catchy guitar riffs, bass lines, drumbeats and the great voice of Sizemore fits perfectly, creating something almost addictive. It’s between the modern and the classic. The same applies to the last song on the album “Cast Out”. “Black Heart” begins with a beautiful piano which then give way to a heartbreaking song that somewhat reminiscent of Breaking Benjamin. Again the instruments come together to give us something worth listening to again and again. Intense, dramatic, amazing. “Caught In Your Trap” follows the same path, the violin or the synthesizer, adds a more epic feeling to the track. “Nobody Know You”, “Going Nowhere”, “The Liberty” and “Wandering Alone” on the other hand are more “fun”, entertaining. However, all that we have cherished from the beginning, can still feel there. “Tell You” it’s like a cross between Pearl Jam awesome type-of-sound and Breaking Benjamin, especially in the verses.

In conclusion, if the guys continue working together as a band, we might be in front of a legendary band. The whole record is impressive, from production to the band itself. Another thing I loved was is that they aren’t those bands, as I have been mentioning from the third to the sixth paragraph, that have something less, more or extra in each of the track giving them each their own identity.
