About Dexter Moore 1 Article
A South Philadelphia native, Dexter has been performing in front of audiences since age 11. Dexter grew up in a musical family. His dad is an organist, both brothers are drummers, his sister is the singer in the family and his mom, R.I.P. played the piano. You could say music is in his genes. Like many talented musicians, Dexter’s initial exposure began in the church. Through his associations with other talented musicians, Dexter was introduced to Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter, the late Gabriel Hardeman, Jr., (Gabriel Hardeman and The Delegation) at a jam session in Camden in 1987 and this would profoundly change his music career forever. As fate would have it, Dexter became a full-fledged member of the Delegation almost 5 years after that chance encounter and is featured prominently as the main keyboardist on Gabriel's last CD recording entitled "The Chief Musician". Dexter has toured in Europe as well as throughout the USA and has been privileged to play behind some real industry heavy-hitters in both Gospel and secular music. As a sought-after producer and musician in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas, Dexter has contributed his keyboard and production skills to several CDs released by local artists. Aside from making music in his home studio, Dexter loves to spend quality time with his family, do crossword puzzles, rent movies, and read books or magazines on music production and engineering.
