Award-Winning Singer, Songwriter, and Multi-Instrumentalist Hannah Lou Woods To Release Debut Single from Much-Anticipated Forthcoming EP

Acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hannah Lou Woods, who is renowned for her soulful, heartfelt lyrics, and unique melodies, has announced the release of the debut single from her forthcoming EP Meet Me At The Pine Tree. “Fallen from the Stars” will be unveiled on all DSPs on Saturday, January 27 along with the accompanying video at “Fallen from the Stars” Video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAGaivbqub8).

Written while she was first falling in love with her husband, Woods says “It’s a song that helped me be open to the idea that I could really love someone for my whole life, and it continues to help me.” She explains that “Fallen from the Stars” is one of her most deeply personal songs and is indicative of the direction of the rest of the EP.

“With this song and the EP, I’m inviting listeners and fans into an aspect of myself and my life that I usually keep fairly private, because it’s such a sacred thing to me,” Woods said. “It feels like another level of vulnerability and authenticity that I’m sharing with the world.”

In fact, Woods admits that “Fallen from the Stars” and the EP itself were intended to be a private gift to her husband for their wedding. Yet, when the couple danced to the song, she says “It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve experienced, to be surrounded by so much love all at once as we danced to this song, almost too much love for my heart to hold.” Afterward, she wanted others to feel this same way.

“I wanted people to be able to hopefully feel a little of this love that I’ve experienced and let it touch their lives too. To help remind people of the beauty, that it’s here even amidst all the hard and terrible things in the world, to create a reminder that there is something beautiful here too, and that we are all worthy of the kind of love that makes our hearts sing,” Woods said.

“Fallen from the Stars” features Woods on vocals and piano and Trevor Jarvis on cello and was co-produced by Woods and Dave Chapman at Ugly Duck Studios in Boston, MA. Chapman also engineered the track.

To celebrate its release, Woods is also unveiling a beautiful, intimate video that captures the heartfelt emotion of the song. Featuring footage from her wedding, interwoven with images of Woods singing along to the song in the pine trees, as well as in her home on her piano, she says it is a “literal reflection of my life and the love that I’ve been so blessed to experience.”

The wedding footage was taken by Jordan Brown and Dave Chapman, and the additional footage and editing was done by Nathaniel Nelson from Treedome. Woods was able to create the “Fallen from the Stars” video thanks to a grant she received from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council.

“Fallen from the Stars” follows Woods’ long and illustrious list of songwriting and performance credits. In fact, she has won numerous awards for her songs, including the Great American Song Contest (Pop Category), and serving as a finalist in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest and receiving an Honorable Mention at the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase.

Most notably, Woods’ ultra-successful electro-heart-pop project We Saw Lions has gathered over seven million streams on Spotify and averages 80,000 monthly listeners. Additionally, the track “Let’s Love Louder (Sacred Change) featuring Hannah Lou Woods with Bliss Looper now has over 750,000 streams.
