After support from BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio London, BBC Introducing, and Amazing Radio; Short Sharp Scratch bring their newest pop-funk zinger single ‘Do You Like It?’. This Brighton collective is led by Jak Chantler, a former alt-rock award-winning guitarist who has relaunched himself and taken on his next musical adventure with a soul-inspired twist.
‘Do You Like It?’ features lead vocals from Brighton songstress Aimee Montague accompanied by Bobby Lamont and synthesizer legend, Mo Pleasure who is known for his work with Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, and Christine Aguilera. Its lustful groove is an instant earworm with Jak’s songwriting showcasing influences from Prince and Chaka Khan.
Over the years Jak has worked alongside Charlie Andrew (Alt J, Madness) and Steve Albini (Nirvana, PJ Harvey) and traveled all over the world with his music performing at high profile events for James Corden and Gordon Ramsey. During this year’s lockdown, Jak worked with soul legend Jocelyn Brown, this relationship has flourished over the past few months which could lead to some exciting announcements from Short Sharp Scratch in the year – so make sure you stay tuned!
‘Do You Like It?’ will be available on streaming platforms on Friday 6th November.
