Rock metal quintet Killcode has unveiled their dark comic book-inspired video for their single “New Superman” at youtu.be/wLkxf8YkKb0?si=QRq37UwtmGQUHatX. A track from their latest album Life, Death, Rock N’ Roll (Mother West), “New Superman” was produced by Joey Z (Life Of Agony, Stereo Mud, Carnivore) and touches on an omnipotent superhero who, after losing faith in humanity, turns his back on society.
The song and video expose issues of nationwide loneliness, fear, dividedness, and the actions of an unfortunate and unlikely anti-hero. To depict these messages, Killcode Guitarist Chas (Charlie Banellis) turned to longtime friend and acclaimed director James Callahan and his team at Camp Rattler to produce the video.
“I loved the challenge of writing a companion piece that stayed within the lyrical rails while touching on relevant issues in a comic book format,” said Callahan. “We at Camp Rattler look forward to continuing this awesome storyline with Team Killcode.”
Written before and during COVID, Life, Death, Rock N’ Roll is an album comprising songs about life’s ups and downs and is bursting at the seams with hard rock classics coupled with deeply personal numbers that show the more human side of the band.
