“I wrote it back behind the house sitting in the sun after I got paid one day. It expresses a feeling of relaxation and peacefulness, where the only thing you’re worried about is if you want one lime or two in your drink. A symbolic shoes off moment after a long couple weeks of work and stress. The structure is different from any other song I’ve written, the chorus essentially starts out the song and the verses are more of a refrain back into the hook.”
-David Bingaman

Brother and The Hayes is a Tennessee based, Texas born Americana-roots band led by
siblings Jennie Hayes Kurtz and David Bingaman. They combine thoughtful lyrics with
infectious grooves, pulling from an assortment of blues, bluegrass, and country &
western influences. The duo has released four studio projects since 2017 and their
latest release, Another Strange Time, is turning heads. The writing remains poetic yet
approachable while the memorable hooks are catching listeners in a new way.
Along with the haunting, earworm single, “Something to Find”, the EP includes songs
written during the 2020 Covid-19 shutdown, a song Jennie Hayes wrote for David when
she feared the band might break up, and a song David wrote about a diner waitress in
LaFayette, Louisiana.

“Over a steady, lightly rocking arrangement, enhanced by a soulful guitar
solo and sprinkling keys, ‘Something to Find’ recalls the Drive-By Truckers at
their most thoughtful.” – The Indy Review
You would be hard pressed to find a band that writes more authentically and has more
fun playing together. The rapport between brother and sister on stage is something to
behold as they draw you in and make you feel like part of the family.
