This summer, County Wide is living for the weekend, one song at a time. The southern-rock band is going “Fool Speed” ahead on July 22 with their first release of 2022 – a song with a tongue-in-cheek messaging perfectly reflecting the band’s own humor.
“Fool Speed” is a ‘fool proof’ summer-of-freedom anthem, with lyrics such as “Where it ends, I don’t know; I got all day to get there and nowhere to go; A little random, lot of free.” The upbeat rhythm and Lynyrd Skynyrd meets Montgomery Gentry writing style makes “Fool Speed” an irresistibly relatable song, and written and performed solely by the members of County Wide.
“I think this song is very relatable to everyone. It takes me straight back to simpler times when I could just blow off my job and go hang with the boys or chase girls,” bassist Anthony Campbell shares. “I love a song that can take me back in time and I feel like this one does just that.”
Kicking off a summer of nostalgia, “Fool Speed” reminisces on the good ole days, when a job was just a job and living for the moment was the only concern. After all, keys & guitarist Evan Crawford knows, “we’re still trying to out live our fool speed.”
“Fool Speed” is available now for pre-save, and will be available on all streaming platforms July 22. For more on County Wide, follow @countywideband on social media and visit www.countywideband.com.
