WHCJ (90.3 FM) is the radio station of Savannah State University. WHCJ is on the airwaves 24 hours Sunday through Saturday and covers the areas of Chatham County and portions of Effingham, Bryan, Beaufort and Liberty counties. WHCJ plays a variety of musical styles including jazz, reggae, gospel, blues, hip hop, African, Latin and alternative soul. Educational offerings include talk shows, commentaries, and cultural enrichment programs. WHCJ prohibits orating in any form which includes, but is not limited to: sermons, devotionals or opining of personal and political beliefs. In addition to its traditional functions, WHCJ provides a professional environment for SSU students who wish to receive hands-on experience and practical training in various aspects of broadcast production. The experience of working at WHCJ, along with a traditional classroom education, makes our students better prepared to enter the job market.
