Grammy-winning songwriter, producer and musician, RedOne (Nadir Khayat), was named “Songwriter of the Year” by the leading U.S. music rights organization Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). The honor was presented to him last night at BMI’s 58th annual Pop Music Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. The highly successful, sought after record producer and songwriter has been credited with multiplatinum Lady Gaga’s futuristic sound. RedOne received the honor for penning the mega-hits, “Fire Burning”(co-written with Bilal ‘The Chef’), “Just Dance,” “LoveGame” and “Poker Face,”(co-written with Lady Gaga).
