Australian pop-fusion duo President Street have released their autumnal anthem ‘I Found Me’.
President Street, just off the back of an unplugged tour of the UK, have released their latest track, an autumnal anthem about the blossoming stages of a relationship, ‘I Found Me’.
It’s a song about falling in love with someone else, yes, but it’s also a track about finding the courage to be yourself and how a healthy relationship can support you in your self-love practice. As the winter nights draw in and all you want to do is curl up next to the person you love, it might be worth considering whether that person may have been yourself all along.
The song begins with a lazy guitar riff but it’s not long before Ruby’s commanding vocals kick the song into gear. The chorus takes inspiration from the energetic heavy drum grooves of the drum ‘n’ bass world, and gives the song a dynamic and euphoric feel.
This is all accompanied by the hot-off-the-press lyric video which was released in the UK last week. It’s a beautiful video, showing images of a woman walking around a city in complete contentedness and in her own company. It perfectly reflects the message of the song – that it’s okay to be in love with yourself and put yourself first.
