Madeline Rhodes Unveils New Single “Pep Talk”

In “Pep Talk”, the third single from the forthcoming full-length LP ‘The Brothel’, Madeline Rhodes reveals her highly relatable inner dialogue, rife with negative self-talk and internal doubt.

The anthemic chorus is a revelation, an insistence that her self-loathing saboteur “get out of my head, I’m supposed to be my own best friend.” Filled with sugary pop-tastic hooks that are indeed difficult to get out of one’s head, the lyrics are a shrewd criticism of the corrosive nature of toxic positivity.

Like much of Madeline’s work, “Pep Talk” emphasizes the juxtaposition of lyrical themes of mental illness, self-loathing, and addiction with captivating ear-worm melodies, and carves a fresh and unique path for listeners. Emotionally challenging, yet relatable – Madeline fashions a musical access route to explore darkness safely.

“Pep Talk” was produced by Certain Self, the moniker of NYC-based producer, songwriter, and engineer Zeno Pittarelli, and shines with his signature take on ethereal pop, tinged with alt-folk aesthetics.
