Wyn Starks Explores the Power of Pursuing and Embracing Dreams on New Single “Run”

Nashville, Tenn. (February 16, 2024) — Curb Records recording artist Wyn Starks explores the power of pursuing and embracing one’s dreams on his new single, “Run,” out today (2/16). An anthem with a call to break free from the limits of fear, “Run” is a compelling musical journey crafted by Starks and co-writer Fred Williams. Listen HERE.

“The inspiration behind ‘Run’ comes from seeing friends back home who never left their hometown, never put themselves out there into the unknown for fear of failure,” Starks shares. “I relate because too many times in my own life and career, I have let fear stop me from pursuing my dreams.”

Characterized by a stimulating sound, “Run” features a wall of electric guitars, synths, and drums, reminiscent of iconic artists like The Killers, Fitz & The Tantrums, and The Weeknd. Produced by Fred Williams and expertly mixed by John Catlin, known for his work with The Killers, Interpol, and Death Cab For Cutie, the track is a pop/rock masterpiece that stands as a testament to artistic courage and is a rallying cry for everyone to overcome their fears, making it a must-listen for those seeking inspiration and empowerment.

About Wyn Starks:
Wyn Starks is already well-known for his 2022 appearance on America’s Got Talent and his Black Is Golden album, with songs like “Who I Am” garnering 11.5 million YouTube views and charting #14 on the Billboard charts. The Curb Records signee’s journey began in Minneapolis, where he grew up with his mother and siblings. He listened to a wide variety of music, from the gospel harmonies of artists like Yolanda Adams and The Clark Sisters to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. At 13 he sang an original song entitled “Angel City,” at church, thrilling churchgoers and affirming his potential. Eventually, he directed his church’s youth choir and praise team.

Starks then moved to Dallas, where a viral video of him singing caught the attention of producer and songwriter Fred Williams, who invited Starks to Nashville to work on music together. He released his debut single “Circles” in 2019 and crafted his 2021 Black Is Golden. Collaborating with professional songwriters and musicians throughout the country, Starks also toured as an opening act on folk band Delta Rae’s 2021 and 2023 national tours.

Starks spent the majority of 2023 prepping his sophomore album while out on the road with Delta Rae. The new project is a mesh of his R&B and soul influences, but will also be imbued with elements of pop, 80s rock, and other sounds that radiate his preferred vibe of timeless, feel-good music. Starks has always been a student of music, but now he’s more confident in jumping out of his comfort zone and exploring all kinds of sounds.
