Following an exclusive interview with UK fashion and lifestyle publication Wonderland Magazine, Fearless Records signed artist NOT A TOY continues to bend genre lines with their distinctive new single, “Dementor.” Flipping the idea of a Dementor on its head, NOT A TOY’s latest release is a dark love poem packed with clever wordplay, groovy guitar chords, and tender trap-pop beats. The song tells a story of a protagonist who falls in love with his temptress, and unable to resist her charm — he ultimately compares his muse’s chokehold to a Dementor, losing himself in this lustful love.
Sprinkled inside the jam-packed track are two notable collaborations. The alluring guitar rhythms heard throughout “Dementor” are provided by none other than Polyphia guitarist, Tim Henson, better known by his stage name The W6rst. The new single also features contributions from producer Morgoth Beatz, whose previous production credits include Juice WRLD, Machine Gun Kelly, and Shoreline Mafia.
The track became single-worthy after NOT A TOY noticed that fans felt a strong connection to “Dementor” during their tour run supporting Lil Lotus and Cemetery Sun this fall.

Residents within the Denver area can also celebrate the track’s debut, alongside a sneak-preview of unreleased material, at NOT A TOY’s “Dementor” single release party tonight at The Roxy. Fans can purchase last-minute tickets here.
A diverse assemblage of four creative artists whose ambitious music cross-pollinates bedroom pop, emotional melodies, aggressive rock, and trap, NOT A TOY is both band and collective. Branson Hoog, Benji Spoliansky, Jeremy Marmor, and TJ Wessel are all beatmakers and producers. Art shows, tattoo culture, and streetwear are all part of their creative identity. These four high-school friends cut their teeth skateboarding, breakdancing, and playing punk and emo gigs in Colorado.
As NOT A TOY continues to gain momentum in the alternative music scene, they have obtained noteworthy remarks from media outlets.
Bandwagon Magazine declared the group’s self-titled debut EP “as bombastic as it is fearless.”
Haunted Publications called them nothing less than “a look into the future of music.”
