(FOR RELEASE August 19, 2022 – LOS ANGELES, CA): L.A. based indie rapper Waju shows his maturation as an artist on the title track of his upcoming project “in the clouts”. The track opens with jazz inspired keys, upright bass and a saxophone creating a sound reminiscent of a film noir scene.
With lyrics like “Got my foot up on the gas, like can a brotha get a brake” it’s clear that Waju yearns for change, but something is holding him back. A feeling that’s all too relatable to listeners. This song is essentially a pep talk to himself. Despite his past and everything he has been through, he continues to look forward and give it his all.
The entire project is produced by multi-platinum Interscope artist and producer Lil Power. In this song, Lil Power layers boom bap percussions with soulful chords which marry well with Waju’s melodic vocals. The results are a vibey lofi track with a hint of blues.
