RICHMOND,VA, August 19, 2020- Augury Music Group LLC is thrilled to announce the release of its first single, “The Smokescreen in America”. The song features both up-and-coming and established artists from both Richmond and beyond and is executive produced by Darryl “D-Nice The Producer” Walker. “The Smokescreen in America” will be available on all major music platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. A remix version as well as a music video are expected to be released in early 2021.
In line with Augury Music Group LLC’s mission to raise awareness about a variety of cultural issues through the power of R&B, hip-hop, and rap music in the community of Richmond as well as America as a whole, “The Smokescreen in America” combines a captivating R&B beat with meaningful lyrics discussing current events throughout the country.. The single touches on the COVID-19 pandemic, the political climate in the months leading up to the 2020 Presidential Election, police brutality, and racism. Following the upcoming release of the single’s remix, ten percent of all combined proceeds of both versions of “ The Smokescreen in America” will go directly towards a related charitable cause with the hope that young people in the Richmond community will be inspired to become involved with social issues by being educated through the power of music.
The title of “The Smokescreen In America ” was inspired by the idea that current events, particularly with today’s political climate, are occurring in a “behind the scenes” manner with little information being given to the public – hence, information is being hidden by a sort of “smoke screen”. The original single features both established and up-and-coming artists of all backgrounds, many based out of Virginia, including Edward “Red Rum” Anderson, known for being a former member of DJ Khaled’s We The Best Music Group, Marlon “Artist Anderson” Anderson, a well-known gospel artist from the group God’s Image now venturing into R & B and Hip-Hop, Morgan “Mo” Stewart,Philadelphia artist Wallace “Reality Childs” Battle, and John “Luv” Jones. The remix version of the song will feature Pusha T signee Kahri1K, Ed Da Realist, Morgan “Mo” Stewart, Trill Will, Artist Anderson,as well as international artist Lime Rapchic of Johannesburg, South Africa. “The Smokescreen in America” is produced by Jamaal Luck, Milo Austin, Sean Tabb Jr. , and Darryl Walker himself under his stage name, D-Nice The Producer. Seven-time Grammy nominee Ken Lewis , whose hits include Bruno Mars’ and Mark Ronson’s 2014 single, “Uptown Funk”, is also involved in the creation of the single.
