Onarsé Showcases His 4 Octave Vocal Range In Upcoming EP “15/10”

The upcoming Filipino-Australian alternative R&B artist with a 4-octave vocal range! If Mariah Carey dominated the 1990’s decade with her 5-octave vocal range, is this the beginning for Onarsé to dominate the new decade and era of music?

From the very first song of his upcoming EP “15/10”, he instantly showcases his ability to vocalize effortlessly in his lower register. However, as the first song “Never Be Enough” comes to a sentimental end, he vocalizes into the upper stratosphere of his voice; hitting an angelic and airy C7 in the whistle register. Throughout the EP, his versatile musicality subtlety combines different elements of musical genres which results in a very distinctive sound which only Onarsé can pull off; especially with a voice that is so easily distinguishable.

Onarsé possesses a voice that holds a buttery texture, similar to how critics often describe the voice of Mariah Carey; as well as possessing a very mellifluous element, similar to the late Michael Jackson. From listening to Onarsé’s voice, it is very transparent that he has been inspired by legends of the music industry. Onarsé wrote each song on the EP independently. Highlighting his inevitable ability to use the power of poetry to create an atmosphere that may reflect upon a listener’s personal life.

Onarsé wrote, recorded and produced his EP independently for 6 months in his hometown in Sydney, Australia after going through a “finding a different kind of love” situation. His birthday is October 15, hence as to why the EP is titled “15/10”; However, what most listeners and critics fail to understand about the symbolism of the EP’s title is that as babies are born, they are showered in love and “given love effortlessly” (which correlates with his date of birth). “However, as people grow older, we often begin to feel as if someone is missing from our life, a significant other perhaps”, and this is what allowed Onarsé to create such a relatable piece of art with his EP. Chasing the one you love that could never be yours. In the song “Last Summer, 2019”, Onarsé speaks about “the day I killed my lover” along with “couldn’t handle HIM with having HER”, a clear representation of a love triangle or perhaps a love dilemma between multiple genders… a song where Onarsé hints his sexuality. A song that ends in a cliff hanger with the story he tells throughout his EP.
As listeners begin to descend down the EP, the “‪15/10‬” concept comes to a bittersweet end that leaves listeners in a state of mind where they are able to deeply relate with the concepts of Onarsé’s songs. This EP may just be the beginning of a rising artist’s journey to stardom and success.
