Tarah Who? goes hard on the burning bright punk ferocity of “Toast To The Brave.” With a nice nod towards grunge, the song stuns with its precision. Riffs get utilized for maximum effect, with the entirety of the work featuring a great heft behind it. Volume is a given, for everything about the song revolves around a sense of pure courage. Drums hit with a force of nature. By far, the true highlight of the piece comes from the incredible vocals which soar through the rest of the sky. Lyrics too feature poetry of sorts, far from the academic kind. Their verses have a raw intimacy to them, ones that feel ever so inspirational.
A great blast of energy starts things off nicely. Nods to groups like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs appear throughout, for it has that same level of grit to it. Guitars get woven together for they intermingle to create this vast, intricately woven tapestry. Thanks in large part to their sheer determination, the song grows and grows. Almost unruly, everything about it features prominently, for there is a decadence to the way it all sorts itself together. By the final stretch, they truly let loose in a cathartic and completely earned way.
“Toast To The Brave” revels in the exquisite detail set forth by Tarah Who? for their furious love of those who live life fearlessly is a pure joy to behold.
