California Singer-Songwriter David Austin Releases Nostalgic Single “Cut Hunting”

Singer-songwriter and genre-bending maverick, David Austin takes us back to his days as a high school teen in new song “Cut Hunting”. Growing up outside of San Francisco, California in Marin Country, David recalls times of driving around with friends to find places where they could turn streets into city clubs. With influences like Ed Sheehan and John Mayer, David gives us colorful images of what life was like for a north-western California kid who was just looking for a place to get away from the world with his friends.

David recalls how easy it was to find enjoyment with the simplest things with lyrics like “cut hunting, straight bummin’, make something, outta nothing, reconstruction, do be coming, turn these streets to city clubs”. Davids poetic vividness in this song can really bring you back to a time when life was easier, and your only worries were where what ‘cut’ you were going to next.

The music video, featuring some of his hometown friends, was filmed in some of his favorite ‘cuts’ while creating a need for road trips and creating memories. Watch the music video here: youtu.be/V1McLZVijjQ
